SS TECHNICAL INFORMATION

HIGH STRENGTH MATERIAL

The 304 stainless steel pipe has tensile strength ≥520MPa (5200bar, 75419 Psi).

It is 2-10 times stronger than other pipe such as plastic, copper or galvanised steel, greatly reducing the possibility of leakage caused by external forces.

LOW COMPARATIVE COST

Water supply piping is an extremely small percentage of a building's construction cost. Whilst the initial cost of stainless steel press-fittings and pipe is around twice the cost of plastic, it is significantly more reliable with a longer life span. There are no ongoing costs, further maintenance costs or repair costs associated with damage caused by leakage.

EASY CONSTRUCTION, SAFE CONNECTION

Installing press fittings is quick and easy with a special crimping tool which compresses the fittings with the pipework. It is 4-5 times more efficient than the traditional methods or screw fittings. The connection parts are safe and reliable, avoiding leakage caused by house shock, water hammer quiver, pipe resonance and even earthquake. The installation method shortens the construction time and decreases risk.

CORROSION-RESISTANT, LONG SERVICE LIFE

Stainless steel pipe can react with oxidants to form a thin and dense protective oxide layer. The corrosion resistance is far better than other metal pipes. The service life is about 100 years.

WEAR-PROOF, TEMPERATURE, FLOW, PRESSURE RESISTANCE

The in-wall of stainless steel pipe is very smooth, with low flow resistance, wear-resistance, shock resistance, anti-ageing, high/low temperature and high pressure resistance.

SUITABLE FOR EMBEDDED INSTALLATION, SAVE MAINTENANCE WORRY

Press-fittings meet the requirement of embedded installation. The connection parts are highly reliable, greatly reducing the possibility of leakage and consequent building damage.

HEALTHY, ENVIRONMENTALLY-FRIENDLY MATERIAL, CLEAN WATER

  • Plastic Pipe: can not stand high temperature, is unsuitable for low temperature environments and ages easily. It may disorganise regular hormone secretion.
  • Galvanized Pipe: rusts and scales easily, red and black water may flow out causing secondary pollution. Galvanized pipe has been expressly prohibited in some countries used as domestic water system piping.
  • Copper Pipe: When copper pipe encounters carbon dioxide & sulfur dioxide, verdigris will be produced, which may be harmful to health (mainly composed of copper sulphate & copper carbonate)
  • Stainless Steel Pipe: unique performance will not cause secondary pollution on water, nor red or green water caused by rusting and scaling, no strange smell, no harmful substance is produced. The water quality is clean and healthy, fully meet the national drinking water quality standards and the whole pipe network can be 100% recycled.

PRINCIPLE AND STRUCTURE OF STAINLESS STEEL PRESS-FITTINGS

Compression-type connection technology has existed since the end of the 1950’s. It's usage is increasing and is becoming one of the standard methods of piping connection.

There is a special rubber seal ring inside the U shape position of the press fittings. To install, the stainless steel pipe is inserted into the press fitting until it reaches the positioning stage. A special compression tool is then used to to tighten one side or both sides of the U-slot and U-groove. The rubber sealing ring works to fix the positioning of the components and prevent shrinking and deformation.
